I feel as if today has been one of those days, the rain seemed constant as well as an overly depressive feeling cast upon the whole campus. I want to send out some happy thoughts.
Not every day can be filled with rain,
some shall be filled with sun.
days will come sooner than we can pray,
with blue skies and marshmallow clouds.
The leaves that fell from the trees will return
in spring,
the grass be more green.
It is the same for sadness,
each moment in a day
cant be filled with dismay.
The optimist would say,
"For each moment you frown
you have a chance,
no matter how slim-
to turn it
upside down."
My glass at times seems half empty right now but when I really ponder my state I realize that it is in fact quite full. Nice piece of writing mr. Chairman.
ReplyDeleteThere are days that seem like that and in my experience the year 2007 was a nightmare from December 26th 2006 when Grandma shattered her ankle, you were sick, our dog died, Grandpa J went in the hospital and until your brother was done with his time with Washington County from his bad car wreck and broken ankle in February 2008. During this time it seemed to be dark and raining even when I was in the sunshine in Hawaii. Now how that is possible is by realizing you can't do a thing to change the future. It is fear of the future you are feeling and through the rain as water is a conductor, you sense the fears of your fellow classmates as they know you all have a long and unknown road that lay ahead of you all. Keep your chin up and look for the little patches of blue that peak through whereever you can find them. In a smile from a stranger or a friend, or a smile to yourself to promise that there will be rays of sunshine comming your way. One day the world seems dark the next it is so bright you need sunglasses to walk outside!
ReplyDeleteJust call me DLK
After I read this I thought of the song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". What you wrote is very relatable because everyone wishes for sunny days over rainy days. There are those days where you mood changes with the weather and those days just sorta prove how manipulative the weather can be on our emotions.
